(Ottawa) 29 Aug 2011 /CNW/ - Unite with agriculture and food industry leaders at the National Farm Animal Care Conference October 5-6, 2011. The conference is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for those who want to stay current on animal care issues and be prepared for future challenges. "Advancing Animal Care and Addressing Market Expectations" is the theme of the one-and-a-half-day event that will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, Ottawa.

The conference is hosted by the National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC), Canada's lead organization for collaborative animal care initiatives. NFACC focuses on creating relationships amongst diverse sectors. It has a course of action to address farm animal care concerns.

"We want to share with you the advances we have made for Canada's Code of Practice development and the animal care assessment model," says Edouard Asnong, chair of NFACC. "Whatever way you are involved in the livestock and meat industry, knowing about how NFACC is meeting the challenges of farm animal welfare head on, is important to you, the animals and your business."

"The agenda features insightful speakers - agriculture and food industry leaders from across the food chain," says Jackie Wepruk, NFACC general manager. "They will speak to the value of a disciplined plan and offer practical solutions for delivering on improved animal care."

Key topics include responding to consumer and market realities, and global advancements and roadblocks to real animal welfare improvements. The conference is also an opportunity to learn more about NFACC's commitment to animal care.
