GET TO KNOW THE FUNDAMENTALS OF NFACC

NFACC is the national lead for farm animal care and welfare in Canada and plays an essential role in supporting groups in bridging differences on farm animal welfare. This role is supported by key, guiding principles like collaboration, diversity, and consensus. But what does being the “national lead” look like in practice?

To help illustrate who NFACC is and what NFACC does, we released three new short videos on our YouTube channel. These videos, entitled “The Importance of NFACC", "Importance of Consensus" and "Diversity Leads to Better Decisions", each summarize a core part of NFACC in under three minutes. Available in English and French, they serve as “bite-sized” snapshots that can help interested individuals better understand NFACC and the role it plays in overseeing the development of the Codes of Practice and the implementation of the Animal Care Assessment Framework

NFACC also offers a one-page Introduction to the National Farm Animal Care Council. This informational piece highlights how NFACC provides a trusted, science‑informed, multi‑stakeholder framework to drive shared solutions on farm animal welfare that support and build trust in Canadian animal agriculture.
